Originally from Philadelphia with a successful career as a fashion stylist, Teri-Lyn was known professionally for her discerning eye, and to her friends for her enviable ability to score the best thrift store finds. Seeking an adventure and a deeper connection with nature, in 2011 she moved to a coastal town in North Carolina and decided to explore her interest in jewelry-making and metalsmithing. Largely self-taught and with a love for working in gold, this journey led her to start Fig.7, a bespoke fine jewelry studio that seamlessly combines her love of nature with a bit of urban edge.

TL has always had an affinity for small treasures whether it’s a fossilized shark’s tooth found on the beach or the pair of tiny turquoise heart earrings given to her by her sister when she was six years old that sparked something inside of her: what it feels like to have a treasure.  “My goal is to create unique treasures, something special and one-of-a kind that someone will wear as a part of their everyday life. A bit of humor. A bit of color. Beautiful and timeless. ” Her hand-crafted works are personal and intimate, embodying the essence of style and detail that tells a story and reflects a lifetime of learning and exploring.

Every piece of Fig.7 fine jewelry is unique and handmade with care by TL in her studio using sustainable natural materials, precious metals (using recycled metals whenever possible), and ethically-sourced stones from small family-owned businesses with whom she has built long-term personal relationships. She resists mass production, instead valuing quality over quantity and connection over consumption. Less is more. “It means something to use materials from the earth,” she says, adding “it needs to last.” So she takes the “slow and steady” approach – designing and crafting one meaningful piece at a time – that is required to transform raw materials into unique treasures that will last beyond a lifetime.
